Though I'm not a fan, I respect Ted Cruz for his consistency. He campaigned for and won his Senate seat based on deeply held principles, then used them to guide his actions as a Senator. Now Cruz is using the same as he vies for the Presidency. He's often touted as being highly intelligent, yet he continues to eschew practicality as a relevant factor in political decisions and policy matters.
It is impossible to govern in this way, making him-if you will-an impractical candidate.
